Earthquake Update
The terrible earthquake is of course still the main topic here is also clear. It must be based on how many times superior to the human has an influence with so many dead (now already 170, horrible) and so many houses destroyed.

Review: Winter potato dumplings
Rita Falk, born in 1964 in Oberammergau. One child from the country. A book on the country. Winter potato dumplings. And the title promises, unfortunately, not what he thinks.

Sure, the acting actor talks about it a few times that he would be left for a dinner of grandma so many things, but I have a novel in which a florist found so no color printed in the appendix. Totally unnecessary and not very revolutionary, known most recipes but already and those you did not know, you might not even know.

Despite the terrible earthquake in Christchurch everything else into perspective I would like to tell you something about my work in the vineyard (I just call it so).
I can choose when I start and stop, I can choose my days off, as long as the work is done at some point stop. Everything is very, very loose.
The owners of the Hawks Head Winery Denis (Kiwi) and Ulrike are (German), an older, very very nice couple.
I usually work between 9 and 10 hours on the day it will start at half past ninth
The first 3 days I have torn leaves of Pinot Grigio. Yes, exactly. For we are here in New Zealand and not-shall we say in Australia or Chile, where the sun always burns. Therefore, we must every now and then the leaves light, so that more sun comes to the grapes.
Since then I'm done I'm now "fruit dropping". This means that I cut off all the bad and Excess grape vinegars. This year it has rained very much and so are the branches not as strong as ever, which means stay tuned per vine like a grape must, as they mature elsewhere. And you want to drink good wine.
The work is very tiring, but doable. And just what I wanted. A lot of time outdoors, get much time to think, a clear head. And in the evening really be tired. can

Yes, and my property is in a cute little house in which I live together with the office lady (Gael) and their dog (Molli) so much better than the last. No comparison.

There is a Wangerooge Pfahlbuhne a difference. I found it so interesting, because so many different colors are combined in a tree trunk. Gray, brown, gold. Really nice.
This fence is on the way to the dike on Wangerooge. It's one of my favorite ways, because on the narrow road there is so much to discover. So much charm And interesting perspective on the island.

The earthquake this time was not as strong as the last one in September, but it has caused much more damage. The last time was the earthquake in the early morning hours, all the people were at home, yet many houses were eingestuerzt came by a miracle no one died.
This time it was around noon 1 clock, the whole city was alive. The epicenter was 10 km away from the city center, in Lyttleton, the port city of Christchurch.
At last count there were 113 deaths, 226 missing. Since Wednesday afternoon, no more survivors rescued.
It is chaos, Hochaeuser who have survived the last earthquake, this time are eingestuerzt, probably too much weakened by the recent earthquake. A third of Haesu in the city have to be demolished. The famous cathedral is destroyed, eingestuerzt. Inside there are at least 20 deaths.
Many people now flee from Christchurch, we also have that recorded. The theme, the main thing is gone. I can very well understand. No electricity, no running water, but mainly the fear of aftershocks (there were already over 50) or another major quake. Absolute uncertainty.
I have some friends in Christchurch, by two I have not heard anything yet, though the phone lines are working again.
I just hope that there are other reasons why I can not contact them.

Today we got a first intolerance test. Lactose. Normal value: 20 My value: 78 Intolerance confirmed. Aha, now what? There are so many products that avoiding lactose. And there are enzymes digest the milk sugar for me. My new constant companion. I'm curious what my doctor for alternatives and identifies with how to deal with milk.
A Live without milk? I can not imagine. East Frisian tea without cream? Impossible. Ostfriesentee with lactose-cream? Mekel-loathing. As Alex said card includes.

Why I Want To Study Medicine Motivation Letter

A few weeks I had an idea that I would like to achieve.
Most of my photos were shot at Wangerooge and therefore provide sufficient Material for many photo books. For my aunt, I made a birthday a photo book about her home village. Well put, I do wonder why I do not even that of my home? Good things are still right at hand! This project will
I occupy myself so in the coming weeks and months. Like magic I have a possible comprehensive picture of my town? Primarily from the natural perspective, I would like to examine this issue. I am excited and full of energy.

Yesterday I bagged it!
In September stands at my first teaching practice and I'm looking forward very much. It is exciting to see the school and especially to the staff room from a different perspective. Instead of waiting at the door and rushing to ask a teacher if he could not even get out to ask XY, I can run with this crowd waiting over and sit with the teachers.
The best: This is my old school where I Class 5 - have completed 10, full of fun and joy. For without this time I would not have many good people met. And many people love me today were not so close. (Although I am beginning was kind of stupid and conceited) Thank God I came to my senses!
On the other hand, I'm a little scared. Finally, it is a completely new experience. How will I cope with the challenge of what school is for me to like the students, I can stand my ground? Even when my work well and is above all "Look here, sometimes there" is a little, at least one hour I will have to make himself / may. Exciting!

I love Wanaka! Regular readers have already seen photos of Wanaka, because I was there twice when I was working on the West Coast. And since Wanaka again the next "town" is from my workplace, I'm obviously went there again when I had my first free day.
Wanaka is wonderful to get an open mind and think. And I've done and I a few, but made very important questions: first
What I came to New Zealand?
To my head to get free and to pick apples.
second Why do I do that, then?
Because there are no jobs in the Obstpflückbranche.
third OK, what you been doing in New Zealand the most fun?
to work on the farm, the physical work and being out.
4th And why are you working then in the cafe?
Because I have to earn money.
5th Are you happy there?
No, not at all. Zero. Unhappy even.
6th Is there no alternative?
(And here it comes) BUT! Viticulture!
And as luck would have it so I have after I run something, and I have these questions answered emails checked and there came a little from a private vineyard, vineyard, wine ... I find the right word is not the first At times it is called English Vineyard (vineyard, but it's not a mountain), or Winery (winery?). You know what I mean. Anyway, I was that schonmal beginning of the year in contact and now have a place for me. and it is very close. And then I went there directly and got me and I will be looked at, yes, will, because I start there on Monday, first vines crop, cut off the bad grapes, so the good can grow and then harvest
:-) We have done the same fix, because I'm here at the Cafe still no contract signed, and can go whenever I want. So tomorrow. This is really where their own fault, for wanting one weeks trial period to see whether they want to keep me, but I can now go the same way. As I've said notice this morning they were all very verständisvoll, I found it very nice and gave it to me easier. Because in the previous post I have some understatement, I like it here that is absolutely not. And I could see the good side, but the bad sides have weighed too much. This whole
Mud everywhere, I think the kitchen at the cafe was not cleaned properly for months. No matter now, am going tomorrow morning :-)
That's the luxury here, which I have, If it is not me somewhere, I just go, so for me it has no consequences.

Strengthnet Armwrestle

heavy heart I am so in Methven driven away to the south. To match this, the weather was bad. There were about 450 km and I took some pictures of the Landscape through which I drove.
This is somewhere between Methven and Lake Tekapo:
And on the next picture you can see Lake Tekapo, which is the most idyllic mountain lake in New Zealand, but unfortunately not in bad weather.
The water is usually a very glaring turquoise. I will pass on the way back here again and I hope I have better luck then.
And the next picture is somewhere between Onemana and Wanaka.
Sorry, can not describe it's, because there is nothing other than nature, not even a village.
Well, and then I arrive in Makarora, it regent from buckets. And I was taken by my boss, Murray, to my accommodation. Yes. And I must confess that I liked most was driven straight back.
My accommodation is a tin shack (normal for New Zealand), which really is not so bad, because there is electricity and water. But you can not imagine how dirty it was. As previously have 2 female students lived and have not cleaned before they are gone. The refrigerator moldy. And then the Bad: How should I express myself cared: it was urinating on the floor and the toilet was, no comment. I almost cried
, it was so gross. I cleaned first 3 hours until I have brought something even in this hut. Fortunately was then Grant (English), who gave me cleaned the bathroom and the fridge, otherwise I would never have been finished.

I feel there is still not really comfortable, but try to see the good side. The problem with the duty
It's difficult. Actually, I've made up my mind set for today in my essay to work on. Now I wish I look like but in half an hour instead of biathlon and now once again to hit the keys, I post here, make tea and do things that have little to do with the essay. The beginning is hard to find.
The winter semester is drawing to a close now, slowly. Students have the whole semester pre-finished and learned, done and done. The vacations, as they mistakenly but are called, would be properly semester break, also offer little time for relaxation. The Hostel in Methven before me and Nadine have worked Tara (from Japan) and Karina (from Chile). Karina had a toothache for days and we have eventually beaten to the dentist. She had an infected tooth that was pulled. When she returned to the hostel she was cold (at about 30 degrees outside) and she was shivering. After we had packed into the bed she was then - of course, fever, and was tachycardic. We then called an ambulance that brought her to the hospital and I wanted to really not (yes mitgefahren Enrique is already a translator because Karina speaks only English), but I could say no, too bad when I was asked. So I've
then a New Zealand first ambulance seen from the inside, brand new, and the best were the (tinted from the outside) panoramic windows. Really cool, because you can see at least something if you sit inside, not like ours, where the return trips to the hospital are always eternally boring.

:-) And then I thought to myself that somehow it's different here, but what? And then I noticed: no patients. One Friday evening, the emergency room is empty! Thus, we had 3 nurses and a doctor for us and everything went quite comfortably. Well, if time has ...
Otherwise, everything was quite similar to ours and even many of the same drugs and devices, was quite interesting. But was still glad when we are gone again.
Poor Karina is an incipient sepsis 3 days in the hospital for intravenous antibiotic therapy remained and is now back in the hostel but still not up to snuff. What such a tooth can cause all, hey.
saw any event, so my last night in Methven (or in a hospital in Ashburton) from. May not leave here, I like it better than me. But somewhere you have to get even money, no choice but to leave.

Waxing Aroused Nottingham
city Koller Ashburton (population 28,000)
As it now once again a heavy rain was Bißle are Nadine, Harrison and I went to Ashburton, the nearest town of Methven, located about 30 km. I had to buy me a new hiking pants, as my total now falls apart (they have already patched 5 times, but now it's really not any more). I've actually found one, although in Ashburton are only 4 clothing stores (again, we have not found any case).
After about 2 hours Nadine and I have got an absolute Koller a lot of cars, the noise, all the people and traffic lights (traffic lights have seen in ages no more, not in Kaikoura, Picton still in still in Takaka, there were traffic lights, just too small). We have both been on it at once totally bad, that was really too much city at once. And I think we are talking about a town with 28,000 inhabitants (including all adjacent villages). Is real mad, I'm no longer completely normal. The last time I was in a town this size (or larger) in Tauranga, and that was in November last year, I found the totally bad. Shock! Uncomfortable! I mean, if it been a Christian Church would be really big city, ok, of course, but Ashburton ...
any case, we take it just to go to the supermarket and are driven back to Methven, in the Pampa, population 1,200. How beautiful it was so calm and collected (the sun actually came out again)., Sheep instead of cars, the mountains in the background beautifully.

And this is Enrique, a 40 year old Spaniard middle, which I have already met in Takaka and now I have met here in the hostel by chance.
Bissle crazy, but very nice. He has found work in Methven, on a farm, and lives for several weeks here at the hostel.
And then a little anecdote: I came last night, but purely in my room and what I find on?
Honey, the hostel cat in the middle of my bed. Could they throw out, of course, but they had to sleep on their feet, a Bißle place I like to spend too.

And I've found a new job, and now it is: PAID! Incredible that something like this still exist. No, seriously, I say times 60-70% of job offers imIinternet now (on sites like Backpacker Board or Jobseeker) Work Exchange jobs are. Some also true yield, sucks ass. I mean, yes you will need to earn some money when his working holiday and travel times, there it does not really affect only the money for the property to save money and tied to one place to be. Anyway, I've
searched for weeks now and there was just nothing. I absolutely wanted to go Plücker apples and kiwis, or just some fruit, but you can get as simple a job is already months earlier forgive anything. And these are the jobs in which work the most and is hardest and are paid the least, mostly Mindeslohn (12.50 NZD).
Now I have found a job at a tourist center, in the very south of South Island, again very isolated. And I work (again) in a cafe. But who have also a souvenir shop, a motel, a gas station and a backpacker. Because of that seems to be pleasant and unforgettable.
Will go there on Saturday and Sunday start with work. I'm looking forward to it somehow. It is near Wanaka (again), but Wanaka I like so much and there are still viiiiel explore for me.

How Many Calories Is In Mouthwash
Edoras / Rohan
This is my first "Lord of the Rings"-related entry. As a warning to all those who find the stupid movies or books, which therefore have no interest in those who will now have the text read and just enjoy the pictures.
For everybody else: When I came here to Methven I had no idea that I am located at the edge of Rohan. The shooting for this were mainly around the city and the abandonment of Edoras Edoras to Helm's Deep made here in the foothills of the Southern Alps.
I could not let it take me to go there (very strenuous, about 25 km on a very very bad gravel road low-Harrison).
I suspect that the shootings have taken place at that time in the spring, the film is the grass greener and the peaks still covered with snow. Now Summer (oh yes, we yesterday 38 degrees, the hottest day so far, and had on the South Island!) Everything is a bit brown.
Getting there was really fascinating: totally lonely, you see maybe a cow or a sheep, but that's it for now.
Not to mention that, I think this picture ass when well how the clouds hang in the mountains. On the west coast the clouds accumulate, as always, to the Southern Alps and it's raining like cats and dogs (I speak from experience) and here on the other S PAGE of the Alps is the most fantastic weather. That was just the weather here border-left.
Anyway, back to Edoras:
This hill (mountain would be rubbed on) is called in reality Mount Sunday. From Edoras unfortunately there is nothing left, the houses were after shooting all demolished.
And what is New Zealand: 38 degrees yesterday and a tropical heat with a hot wind (in the mountains Fortunately, a little cooler, but even more), followed by a sultry night. And today it still has 21 degrees and regent. Well, it did not for a long time, nature once again urgently need safe, is only as a stark contrast, even worse than at home in Schland.

And secondly, we had to cross three rivers and we had forgotten our horses :-) There was no way through. No chance.
But still awesome there, then you sit there and look forward, backward, left and right and can not even believe that you really just sees everything. And the time has nothing to do with "Lord of the Rings" to do, that's just New Zealand.
