I like Kaikoura. Right by the sea on the east coast in a bay. The special feature of Kaikoura, is that here the mountains to a coastal open ...

Today is my last day in Picton, am soooo glad. Not that this is not nice but all the circumstances were just modest.
yesterday I was in any event and still made the walks that I had not managed before. After
Waikawa Bay (neighboring) and Karaka Point, where there was once a Maori settlement.

The weather is just crazy here right now. 4 days ago it was so hot that you could hardly leave the house. From one day to another, there was a temperature drop of about 10 degrees, rain and icy wind. Must have hardly mention that because I just had my days off. Winter clothes on and with hot water bottle to bed, isolated houses or heating is known not so ...
The North Island in the Bay of Plenty, New Plymouth to Auckland and there was flooding, but thankfully I am currently in the South Island. But since
again yesterday a bomb weather, which of course I had to use the same for a walk can be done.
This time the Tirohanga track that leads to a lookout point over Picton and Queen Charlotte Sound.

So, finally I by 2 days off and was a nice walk along the headland of the Queen Charlotte make sounds .

I'm not used to fjords, you always feel you walk alongside a lake. Until then the Interislander ferry passes by or you find shells on the beach.

Really nice, the first time that I was fine since I arrived here in Picton.

Mercure Hotel, Picton and more chaos in Tunisia

want to show you my work at the Mercure Hotel Picton Marlborough Sounds.

This is the breakfast room (Also the room where there is dinner), have been responsible for since the morning's breakfast. Mostly I'm alone, sometimes we are in pairs, groups or come when the hotel is booked.

Well, now to work: in short, all corrosive degree is here. Most of the staff at the hotel are arrogant, stiff and stupid. The guests are rich and snobbish. One must crawl inside all the time somewhere, if you understand what I mean .... The pay is minimal. The mood is tense as it fights between the kitchen and give service, service and reception and reception and kitchen. So virtually everywhere. In my hostel (the only one that makes better prices if you stay longer) teeming with cockroaches and it is dirty and get loud, barely sleeping. By the by, I prefer to tomorrow, to a more expensive hostel (apartments or there are not degrees) and then I pay so much that I would get a total of 45-50 hours with ner-week plus 50 € / week, and sorry , it's worth it at all times. Because of that I have drawn my conclusions and had terminated after 5 days (I now realize that I'm the 5th this season, which has terminated, all due to the same Things) and must, by contract, still 2 weeks left until I can go. They wanted me to stay 2 months, but hey, I see a not really that I feel bad for 2 months if I only would have a short time in New Zealand. That's the luxury I have here: if I do not like, then I just go again :-) Would not the home.

But what concerned me the most here is the political situation in Tunisia. Granted, you can get here in the media actually do with it, but certainly in the internet, and especially from my sister at first hand. I just hope the situation calms down soon. I can only hope ...

And so quickly change things. I have received from one day to a job in Picton, and had to leave Takaka and Golden Bay right fix.

Picton is located in northern South Island in Queen Charlotte Sound. This is where the ferries from the North Island-from which it is mainly in the high season, so now, quite lively.
The place itself is not great, but you have everything you need like: supermarkets, mobile phone reception, hostels, small shopping street, Sea, mountains, forests .... and now I've discovered that one day free at the library to the Internet.

The good news: Tomorrow is actually Anabel to Picton, Ronja is today to Blenheim and studied there for work (which is located about 25 km) and Marie is now for a long time in Nelson (about 2 hours by car), as you can during the free days take in any case.
So now enough whining. Time a few details to the job: I work here at the Mercure Hotel and am primarily responsible for the breakfast. in a hostel that is centrally located and only 5 minutes walking distance away. Is quite ok (Indoor Swimming Pool, Breakfast inklusieve bin (containing mostly already at work when there's Frühstck), evening dessert, rieseige DVD library for rainy days. Have there get a special rate because I stay a while and am glad that I now (after I already moved 3 times here in Picton) have my stay.
